COURSE DURATION: 6 Months ECTS credits: 20
OVERVIEW

The evening dress making program will help the students to explore various techniques that can be applied to create contemporary prêt-à-porter gown. This will include discussions on current trends, bodice design, construction and development. The program will focus on toiling, fit and fabric manipulation techniques.

THIS COURSE ENCAPSULATES

• Contemporary and historical inspiration for making Prêt-à-porter gowns • Pattern alterations • Interlining • Fabric manipulation • Fastenings • Seams • Lining and boning • Rouching and draping.

DESIGN FOR ADVANCED LEVEL

This is an advanced level. The prerequisites are the following:
• Sewing skills • Pattern cutting • Ability to create wearable collection.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

• Understand the development process of garment construction • Acquire a professional approach to sewing methodologies.
